Dune, light? *stares in disbelief* Between trying to wrestle your mind around the topics of the spice and its effect, and how Peter managed to fall for the awful one-dimensional Chani, and understand all the dry-land ecological stuff...I mean, it has every aspect of science fiction: humans in a futuristic setting and how they react, techonolgy, long scientific explanations about things with very little bearing on the plot (like Moby Dick!)...I can't see how you would be able to read it lightly at all, without coming away totally confused.
