timepiececlock: (well fuck me)

Ok, on a whim I've started downloading the new Angel from www.buffyverse.com. I just finished the part where Angel tells Cordy to stay behind.

I loved the look on Fred's face when Angel said "It's too dangerous-- I can't risk it. Fred, get a move on."

It was that expression of "Oh, w-w-wwwait-- if its too dangerous for her, it might be too dangerous for me, who is smaller-boned and not demony."

:sigh: Ah... the benefits of feminism in action; everyone expects you to do the bloody/scary stuff too.

:g: Also, I'm so understanding now why everyone is enamoured with The Luv Of Wesley. Heck, half of the previous episode and half of this one, and a phone-sex call is all I've seen this season, and I'm already in love with him. He's not Spike... but he's not Spike either. I feel I can still be madly in love with Spike and nurture this sudden infatuation for Wesley at the same time without stretching my fangirlish proclivities.

Did anyone else think the Wesley/Lilah break-up was lifted rihgt out of As You Were? Lilah was practically paraphrasing Spike. Except, Wesley seems to have had more respect for Lilah than Buffy did for Spike, but less affection. Which isn't saying a lot, as Buffy didn't have much herself.

ETA:

"What's a zombie?"
"It's an undead thing."
"Like you?"
"No!--- Zombies are slow-movies, dimwitted things that crave human flesh."
"Like you?"

::snigger:: That's too good. Hm... This ep is kinda scary... creepier than anything we've seen on Buffy for a while. That's what Buffy needs-- more outright creepy elements and less goofy elements (for example, I didn't find Gnarl the skin-eater to be the least bit creepy, whereas the girls running and getting knifed in the first two eps of season 7 were scary, w/ the chasing and the knifing and such.)
