So ignore all the ranting I've done tonight. I'll get over it, and these things usually strike in the last slow hours of morning anyway. Besides, fanfic makes everything better.


And random here, but have you on my flist ever recced a short fanfiction story to someone who doesn't read fanfiction at all, just because it's terribly good and you know that said person is a big fan of both shows?

I'm thinking about reccing this Doctor Who/ Hitchhiker's Guide crossover to my dad. He watched DW in the past and has watched most of the new show with Nine on SciFi Channel, so he's well aware of the character. And like me, he's an enormous HHGG fan. I think he'd get a kick out of it-- out of the excerpt at the top, at least.

But like I said, he really doesn't read fanfiction. Not that I've ever heard him mention to me before, anyway. So I'm torn.

Rec it to him anyway. You should assure him that it isn't one of... those fics, and ask him to treat it as he would any other piece of literature - which it technically is.

I would suggest you print it out for him, though. I'm not sure if I'm remembering this right, but one of the hardest things I had to adjust to for fanfiction was reading everything off a computer screen; it's not too good for the eyes either.
