So who has read the Halfblood (Elvenbane) series by Mercedes Lackey & Andre Norton? I read the first two books loooooong ago, and I really liked them.

I just bought the third book, but I honestly can't remember enough of the second book, and it's bugging me as I read this one (I'm only in the beginning). My last memory of the second book was that it ended on some kind of crazy cliffhanger, and I remember being disappointed because there was about to be this awesome dragon fight or something, and it cut off. Did I forget the last chapter? Is that a correct recollection of the ending?

I've tried to find book summaries online, but unfortunately book fans are not as crazy with their free time as tv-fans, so I can't seem to find any summary more in-depth than a book jacket. I need to re-spoil myself for everything I've forgotten.
