timepiececlock: (well fuck me)

Just watched the clip that apparently I'd miss on my initial download-- the kitchen scene!

With the Vegeta crack!

::hands over face snickering:: How funny was that? You'd probably have to be an anime fan of some sort to get a kick out of it, but boy did I. And the really pathetic part is that Andrew isn't like Vegeta at all-- Vegeta is much more like Spike or Anya.

He's like Spike because he is a character foil/shadow for the main character; because it was love that eventually drove him to choose to be good; because he had no choice in being bad initially; and because the hero let him live out of pity.

And he's like Anya because he had a brief remission in which he willfully chose to be bad & kill people again for the power it gave him, and then had to go back & choose willfully to be good.

Like them both because he was hindered from doing evil by being stranded on the planet with the guy who could beat the crap out of him if he started doing evil again--thus against his will. And because he eventually changed by years of exposure to humanity, which taught him mercy & compassion.

::giggle:: Not really like Andrew at all. And much cooler.

A lil proposition

OMG, this would be perfect for my Wall of Redemption (http://lina.onncafe.com/misc/redemption/Redemption.html) project! I was actually working up the courage to ask if you would be willing to write two paragraphs on Wolfwood since I gathered from some of your posts that you were a Trigun fan, but after just reading your post, I thought your description of Vegeta was dead on. So, *shuffles feet* would you be willing to write Vegeta's redemption story for the project? Initially, I was going to write all the essays but then I thought it would be cooler (not too mention put less on pressure on me *sheepish grin*) to have other fans of the same characters write their own perspectives on the different Bish featured on the Wall. I've all ready got Bardock *grin* and so far have found volunteers for Hiei and Gambit. If you'd be willing to work on Vegeta that would be great. Hmmm...would you be able to recommmend someone that would be willing to write a two parapraph blurb about Spike? That would leave Sesshou-Maru (Inu Yasha) and Wolfwood (Trigun). Gah, my work is never done.

Muchisimas gracias,

hm.... I would, except I haven't seen most of the Buu saga, so I'm missing a lot of information about Vegita. Some of what I know from that part of teh DBZ timeline, I know from descriptions of other pople and from inferences based on fic and sites and character summaries.

I'd be better at doing wolfwood, as I've seen all of Trigun and know more about him than I know about Vegeta. But you're certainly welcome to copy the points used in my post and bring those up in your vegeta essay.

Awww...well...the latter half of the Buu Saga is crucial to Vegeta's final redemption so I can understand your hesitation. I would like to use your observations as a skeleton to get started and I would be honored if you would write an excerpt on behalf of that endearing rascal Wolfwood. Basically what I'm looking for is a mini essay, no more than two paragraphs outlining the character's, in this case Nicholas D. Wolfwood, journey to at attaining redemption (i.e., motivating factors, people, events, past experiences etc). Again, I truly appreciate your contribution to my silly 'lil project ^.^

that sounds cool. I could do that. When would you like it by? I'll need some time to think it over, and to fit it in with my other stuff.

mmm... Vegeta! I'm still bitter that Cartoon network keeps cycling back to just after Vegeta sacrafices himself to try to kill Buu, and then they go through many Vegetaless eps, and just when he comes back *bam* back to repeats. Durnit, that's just not right, he's more than half the reason I watch that show ;-) So it was with great delight that I greeted his name on Buffy (which I finally got to see last night). Silly Andrew, Vegeta would eat him for breakfast! I haven't seen his whole saga, but I like your summary/comparison, it fits in with the bits and pieces I've seen and heard about quite nicely...hmm, maybe I'll go stare some more at the little vegeta collage I made a while back.... ot: finished watching the Escaflowne series a few weeks ago, and quite liked it. Is the movie worth a rental? The preview made it look like a completely different story...

I haven't seen the whole Buu saga either-- I haven't even seen everything that's on CN.

I loved Esca. But the movie was crap. Not anything so nice as the series. I'd try downloading it for free, if I were you.
