If I've already read a considerable portion of the manga, is it worth it to start watching the new anime? If so, when should I pick it up again to skip all the boring re-introductions?

And, on a random note, things I wish I got to say more often in conversation:

Everyone loves a happy medium.
You anti-semantic bastard.
But now what do I do about the bubbles?

I don't really care for Naruto Shippuuden, but that's mostly because I don't like the art. Like. At all. I think the second part of the manga has been really pretty so far, and the anime doesn't do it justice at all.

That being said, I'll probably watch it when it gets to the Uchiha fight, because I want to see how they handle it animated and I like Itachi's voice actor.

I'm not sure where to tell you to start in order to skip the reintroductions, though, because I haven't been following it since like. The second episode. It's my understanding it only got as far as the end of the Gaara rescue art before it went back into fillers, though. And that arc has reintroductions scattered throughout it. :\

I would not watch all of the new anime, but just pick and choose from the parts you like in the manga. I watched the new Gaara arc and the first Shippuden episode contains a really well animated scene from chapter 300, which is a bit of a spoiler if you haven“t read it yet. But I would not suggest watching all of it, especially as they still add in filler here and there.

I don't know.

I do think that anime and manga are kind of incompatable, in that I'm reading Shippudden right now, which is (the only) place I was watching chronologically, and now I'm trying to read that in the manga and being like, 'oh, god, do I HAVE to?' about it.

How can you be reading both?

For the first several seasons Naruto was directly from the manga, scene for scene, then it had an insane amount of fillers. I was hoping the new series would be in the same vein follow the manga, but others have told me it has filler as well.

I like to think of the anime as manga+filler most of the time, since they don't usually change anything, just add. At least in the old series.

I don't get angsty about reading the manga, because it's so quick. I read 20 chapters yesterday, and I'll read even more tonight, and I'll probably be caught up 70 chapters by Monday night.

Oops. I mean, I WATCHED the beginning of Shippudden, and now I'm having trouble getting into reading it. *blushes*
