I could articulate the reasons why, but everyone knows. It still holds up several years later. This is some quality storytelling.
Also, I'm confronted with the same lack of desire to write fanfic that I had last time. It's the same reaction I had to Princess Tutu, and to Farscape:
Why mess with perfect ending?
(except in PT's case, I'm still looking for that perfect epic post-series chapter fic that no one's written yet. Arent' we all?)
