Naruto chapter 410 - 427

1. I don't remember exactly, since it was a while since I read the manga, but if Naruto learns the natural energy thing and becomes a sage... isn't a sage a "sannin"? Does that mean Orochimaru and Tsunade also had to learn to command natural energy?
- I am so bored with this hunting the demon-carriers plotline! Am I supposed to be on Sasuke's side in this fight? He's trying to kidnap the Eight-tailed dude and hand him over to a torturous, murderous organization. I'm kind of hoping Eight Tails gives Sasuke's team a righteous beat-down in the name of basic human self-defense.
-Eight-Tails: "Illusions won't work on a host who can control their beast." REALLY NOW? So if Naruto ever made buddy-pals with the Nine Tailed Fox, the demon would make him impervious to all genjutsu illusions? I bet that won't hold up in continuity. I like how he totally killed Sasuke, though.
-I hate that Naruto's always allowed to take shortcuts with his training. What the hell kind of work ethic is that to teach young readers?
415 - this is confusing... did Sasuke just kill Karin? ...except not? too bad, that would have been some sweet angst. reread: aaahhh...what I thought was Karin melting was just her body going underwater.
416 - I love that Jeraiya's beloved first book IS SO BAD.
- "Itachi gave his life to protect the village, but I'm more saddened by the loss of his life. Much more." WHAT? WTF? I should just give up trying to apply sense or logic or consistency to this author's plots for Sasuke. Every time I try to interpret it in a way that might on a crazy blue moon day make sense, it makes me irritable with its lack of cooperation.
- "I want to kill the entire village." Ha! Now, I remember round abouts 400 someone was trying to explain to me that Sasuke didn't really want to hurt the village, just the elders, and my problems with Sasuke's characterization were based on a false premise. Well, clearly not false after all! I repeat my opinions from chapter 404:
He's a tool. He's a pawn. He was Itachi's pawn, Orochimaru's pawn, and now he's Madara's pawn. It's hard to cheer for someone who lets himself be manipulated so consistently, over and over again. He hasn't learned ANYTHING. And that's the really lame part of this storyline. Killing Orochimaru didn't teach him anything. Killing Itachi didn't teach him anything. He hasn't learned the most important lesson: to thine own self be true. As long as Sasuke stays involved in Leaf's affairs, he'll always be someone's bitch dog. Even if he goes home, he'll be the Hokage's dog instead.
He should move somewhere else and get a life. Seriously.
417 - is Suigetsu a mermaid? Wow. I want to suddenly invent a whole mermaid backstory for him! How he was a mermaid, but Orochimaru caught him and did jutsu experiments to teach him to change his form to live like a human. As a test subject!
-Sasuke keeps holding his head now. If his atomic eyeballs are influencing his personality and making him more hateful/paranoid, that would explain why he's suddenly OOC for the last 15 chapters compared to the way he acted for the 400 chapters before that. This hateful need to destroy Konoha as a whole is completely out of character for Sasuke, so evil magic atomic eyeballs influencing him would kind of explain it.
418 - I don't quite understand who Konoha was mentally interrogating. It *looked* like Naruto...
419 - Whoa, they're blowing up Konoha! Sweet. Finally something interesting happens. Also, I like that Sasuke totally screwed up and the Eight Tails Dude got away. They've just been having it too easy with capturing the hosts.
420 - Go Kakashi! Hell yeah, bitch. Nobody touches Iruka. Iruka will live forever, have many fat babies, and be happier than all the other ninjas combined. I bet the slash fans who have been doggedly persevering since the first few volumes of the manga are finally dancing with joy that Kakashi and Iruka were in the same scene again. It only took three years!
422 - It's a good thing Tsunade sent out the medic slug army because they did NOT just kill Kakashi. ...Ha! Bunshin. Love my guy Kakashi.
425 - I reject your reality in favor of my own!
427 - yep, the slugs were a good idea.
Hot damn! The last 8 chapters have been the most interesting thing to happen since the Itachi/Sasuke fight! I will *have* to watch this whole section when it gets animated.
Hm... what episodes of the new anime should I see? I don't like the training eps, but I like good characterization and cool battles.
