Actually, not in New Orleans, but the last person I witnessed do an off-the-fly storytelling job actually WAS camping, and was while I was in the AmeriCorps program. Separately, my team leader for the program was a good storyteller as well. We had a verbal game where we tried to ferret out the 'murderer' from our made up identities within the game, and our TL would always be the narrator because he could just make up storytelling on the spot: relationships, gory deaths, details of the mystery.
Thank you for noticing; I appreciate that you've read enough to see patterns like that. =) Yeah, I'm pretty cynical sometimes. I actually don't think either of these fics (I posted the other) is very good, per se, but just that each has a few interesting descriptions in the middle of rather banal storylines. Which makes sense since I'm driving at the same time and in-depth story complexity is beyond me. I try to edit out the cliche stuff when I'm writing fanfic, to replace taht with something else. No chance of that when I'm recording like this.
