Wow, LJ is fun. And IRL is annoying.
Feb. 21st, 2003 05:45 pmFor the first time, my "friend of" list actually exceed my friends list... only by 2, but still. freaky.
That's going to change now of course, as I've got to go check out some of these new poeple and maybe add them.
In Real Life...
So so hate driving. Drove around for over 2 hours today. Most of it spent looking for this car body shop, where I needed an estimate for the damage to my bumper from where this two-faced bitch (TFB) rear-ended me yesterday morning. At a stop-light, I might add.
I say two-faced because she was apologetic on the scene, and then when she returned my call a few hours later, she refused to give over her insurance information, refused to pay for damages because no police report was taken on the scene, and then got hysterical and hung up on me. I add "bitch" because she then called the police and told them we were harassing her on the phone. I was like "Uh, no, excuse me officer, but I left her a message and when she called me back my dad and I tried to discuss insurance information with her, and she hung up on us in a fit." THat afternoon I had to drive downtown and file a police report myself, which was bothersome.
So I spent all afternoon today trying to a) find El Camino Real ('King's Highway' for all you non-spanish-speaking or non-California people, it goes up and down the whole state form when there were missions everywhere), and find where it goes through Sunnyvale, which took most of the two hours, and then b) find the body shop on west El Camino Real. I so so SO tired of driving now. But the guy at the body shop was polite and helpful, and the insurance people on our end are being polite and helpful.
So now one of our insurance liability adjuster is going to send out something to the TFB, and if she doesn't respond in two weeks, she's considered uninsured and our deductible gets waived. We've decided to sit back and let the system work. I've been taking copius notes of names & persons that calls us about the insurance.
Messy, annoying, unfun stuff. Why can't people just *not* run into the back of others at a light?
