I set it up so that is the first song I always hear when I turn on WinAmp. It really is beautiful isn't it? Maybe it's just my warped little mind, but every Evanescence song that I've downloaded so far makes me think of Spuffy.
still haven't heard it. but was having a ficcy soundtrack day today. began this morning with beth orton's "central reservation" (deep dish modern redneck radio edit), which will be on the HG soundtrack once i'm finished with the fic. but in the beth orton case was a lol hammond CDR that i've been looking for forever. track 4 is called "long forgotten" & it's so...it works so well, even though there's not specific lyrical content. "my lover is the one. he is the only one." gah.
Oh, that's a wonderful Spuffy song. So, so beautiful. I just adore her voice. I want this CD for my birthday.
Nos said she's thinking about making a vid to it at the end of the series, to which I was all "SQUEEEEEE!!!" and stuff. I mean, with lines like ---
"Your voice chased away all the sanity in me" and "You still have all of me"
--- how could this not be a Spuffy ballad?
Anyway, I did find two videos of it already made, the better of which is up here. It's not perfect, but the clips are nicely matched to the lyrics, and I just love hearing the words and seeing the B/S at the same time-- my brain is happy to fill in the rest.
Have you heard their song "Hello"? It is also sad and slow and pretty, and great Spuffyness.
Make an effort to hear it then. Also, "Hello" is a very pretty slow song too. For both of them the singer is wonderful-- her voice really carries the song, with only a slow, haunting piano in the background.
Evanescence is so cool. I love her voice. My Immortal is very cool but I also love Bring Me to Life. When I listen to alot of their songs I also think of Spuffy. I became so obsessed with the Bring Me to Life song that I had to make a video for it. I feel better now, still love the group and like soooo want that cd when it comes out.
I first found out about Evanescence througha Spuffy video to Bring Me to Life. I've seen the one by bloodypoetry, and I loved it it. I got to see them in concert (San Jose) this January, and they wer too fun.
If you are refering to the one by Nos and Merec I've seen that one too and it's really good. My video can be found at my site http://www.blackberrykisses.com/videos.htm
That's cool that you got to see them in concert. I sometimes wish that I could see more concerts but I can't afford so oh, well.
It was a special concert for a local rock stations' 2nd anniversary; they were the first ones I'd heard play BMtL on the radio (not three days after first watching Nos & Merric's vid!). The band did all loud stuff at the concert-- until I randomly download "My Immortal", I had no idea they'd made anything that slow and beautiful. A loud rock band that also does haunting romantic ballads, innundates their lyrics with talk of Spuffy, and has a cool female lead singer? Oh, I'm going to love them. The way I love Garbage, only maybe more, because I've only heard the Garbage lead singer do a ballad for the James Bond movie (which was pretty cool though).
Now I'm bound and determined to buy their stuff. :)
Ooooh. Slow tracks with Shirley Manson's voice? Try Thirteen, You Look So Fine, The Trick Is To Keep Breathing, Drive You Home, So Like A Rose, Milk, Cup Of Coffee. Yes, yes, I am very much a Garbage fan.
I have Thirteen, You Look So Fine, The Trick Is To Keep Breathing, and Milk-- but while I _love_ them to death, those aren't ballads that require a powerful singing voice. In fact, they're usually very breathy and low, with a quiet seductive sound. The World Is Not Enough, however, required more of a vocal range, which is what I meant in the comparison to Evanescence. Both singers have it; you just haven't heard What's-her-name (shirley?) use it much.
hm... There are strong parts in your video, though I think overall it doesn't have the same frantic pace that the song does.
I love almost all the clips you chose for the multiple times the we hear the line "Save me from the nothing I've become". I liked the cutting back and forth between ensouling and ressurection, and I loved seeing the quick clip of Buffy & Spike full-making kissing and groping to the line "bid my blood to run".
I liked the clip of Spike screaming in the basement, and I like later the Lessons clips of him in the basement, to the male singer's verse. And
As I was saying... I also liked the part right after that with Buffy's face from BY to the line "I've been asleep a thousand years it seems," because it realy gets that moment of realization, which matches lyric well.
I dont' understand why you chose the next sequence of clips after that, from the Toruk-han to the cross scene, but I do like the soul part again, and the cave and alley scenes from Get It Done.

All in all, a very enjoyable vid!

Thanks for all the comments, I hope my explanation above helps you to understand about the Turok-han and cross scene.
