I bought Chris Cornell's solo CD after Soundgarden broke up, and I still like it. It was mellow and haunting and kind of eerie, but sweet too. I can definitely hear his influence in "Like A Stone". I've always thought his song "Can't Change Me" was a great song for Spike and Buffy, though a little off now, as time has shown that he did change. Still, a good song for them. :)
