ok... That actor who I said I was looking for a picture of in an earlier entry? His name is Rodney Eastman. I found his filmography at http://us.imdb.com/, but I've had very little luck in finding a picture of him.

I know he guest starred in the X Files 8.5 episode "Invocation" (which I haven't seen), but so far findign screencaps of that have been unfruitful.

No I'm even more determined, especially since SciFi is only playing season 3 episodes of XF right now, which means a lot of time to cycle through to season 8.

So I have thefirstevil friended and the_powers, and I love reading those journals. I've been thinking about friending others, such as d_minion, _rogueslayer_, soulvamp, xander_harris, red_witch, xdawnsummersx, buffy_anne, and especially _scourge_ (Angelus), but I'm worried that some of them may be using spoilers in their journal entries, the idea of which upsets me. Also, non of them really seem believable to me except the evil ones and Willow. The rest seem... I dunno. Maybe not OUT of character, maybe just too much like a fanfic version of themselves. Everyone's too nice or too pathetic. And the spike/buffy ones are way too schmooopy. And yeah, I know-- ME complaining of sap? What bizarro world is this? But I am, because in this medium it seems to bore me.

So I read the FE's journal, because it's weirdly funny and delightfully evil. And if I had the will, I'd write a journal for Holden Webster, the coolest new vamp we've seen in ages. But he's dead, the poor bastard. Really, I mean.

noxon issues and interviews

In a new interview Marty Noxon said this, which amused me:

"...and Joss, by the way, is a rabid atheist..."

:g: Heh. I knew there was a reason I liked him. No, just kidding. Actually, it's a decent interview, with talk about destiny, redemption, the idea of having a calling in one's life, and various themes that us regular Buffy fans have already disected a million times over on messageboards everywhere.

I liked this part, in discussing Spike's character purpose on the show and the Buffy/Spike storyline:

"Then we discovered that there was a real heart to that story-line, and they had a real chemistry together. So a lot of times people who see this as a grand design, an opera about good and evil. It's just really a slowly evolving thing, and sometimes form follows function."

That's sort of how I've seen it, as we've all been told a million times that Spike was supposed to die. Knowing that kind of punches a whole in the idea that this is what they wanted from the moment he stepped onto Season 2's set, if anyone actually had thought that was the case. I like it better this way though, because it's allowed the writers to create in Spike a romantic interest who is very suited to Buffy and the kind of life she lives, even if it's taken a long while for him to reach that position.

This article reveals nothing new, and doesn't even really discuss what's going on in the show this season at all-- it seems to be mostly talking about season 6 and before. I like the interviewer though, and her lead-in description of Buffy's character and the show.
