Damnit, those MoFo's cut the pretty opening animation. All those sunsets and dramatic waving of coats in the wind!
Hey, look, it's Vash The Stampede! Haphazardly dodging bullets on American TV!
Ahh... love Adult Swim. What would I do without Cartoon Network and their Adult Swim line-up?
Hm... not noticing many things left-out or changed much, at least yet.
They cut the credits short, but the original song is there, which is nice.
Awww... Lurvvvv Vash. This is still in the cute episodes of the very beginning, before the massive amounts of soul-crushing angst and the twsisted but lovingly subtle over-arching plot kick in. Hm... how many more episodes until Wolfwood shows up? Ten, eleven?
:sigh: I've seen this whole series, but somehow it's different watching it on live TV. Must be a fandom thing.
AHH!! I'm missing IY! Be back.
ETA: Aww, how I love Miroku from IY. He stares calmly at a cloud of demons and casually wonders aloud at their origin, but as soon as the words "rescue" and "princess" are shouted in the distance, my favorite lecher gets a delighted look on his face and springs into "heroic" action.
I think I definitely like Kirby morrow's voice as Miroku in Inu-Yasha than when he did Trowa for Gundam Wing. Never liked Trowa's voice, but he's much more fun as Miroku. He also did Van in Vision of Escalfowne, and he was pretty good in that. But then, I loved everything about Esca.
WHEE!! Shippo! He's so cute & fuzzy & sarcastic.

Apr. 1st, 2003 01:11 amHey, neat! The Elusive Mayfly, a Vash/Meryl fanfic archive, just opened tonight! I bet they were waiting to open it when the first episode aired on CN, for the fun of ceremony.
Well, overall I'm torn. See, I forgot that Farscape is airing from 12-1am every night too. So do I watch Trigun (which I've seen all of, and have) and Inu-Yasha (which I've seen in subbtitled only and don't have), or do I watch Farscape, which I've seen most of but could do to rewatch?
::holds hands to head in frustration::
And will any of this matter next week when school starts again?

I once was lost, but now I'm found...
Apr. 1st, 2003 10:28 amSome times, something just happens, and you wake up in the morning and you just know, you know?
You realize, "This is right, this is true. This is how it was meant to be."
And you think, my god, how could I have ever before enjoyed the show as a fan, without the true understanding of the magnificence and awe-inspiring romantic beauty of Buffy and Xander's love?
And Gods, to think I was actually a Spuffy fan. So fucking embarrassing. To be grouped with that pack of screaming, pimple-faced, rapist-loving, prepubescent fangirls... Thank god I'm over that. The atrocities commited against fanfiction in the named of that disgusting bullshit falsification of a ship are too horrible to remember...
But as an apology for my gross abuse of fandom as a B/S shipper these last two seasons, I offer these icons in recompense:

I once was blind, but now I see...

Aaahhhh!!! SCARYYYYYY!
Apr. 1st, 2003 11:09 pm::sitting staring at comp monitor, glad to death there's no tv in her room, and imagining creepy girl stalking up to strangle from behind her desk chair::
Watched The Ring tonight. I discovered something about myself and horror films.
See, I can take all the creepy sounds and screams and psycho-slashers that you can throw at me. Once the experience is over and the credita are rolling, I won't blink an eye. Scream scary and jumpy and funny, but not something to keep you up at night.
Ghost stories do it to me. Specifically, poltergeist/demon-spirit type stories, like The Ring.
Why? Imagery. I'm an extremely visual person-- I'm artistic, and I'm always sensitive to the design and look of things around me, or things I see. I admire interesting rocks, pretty-shaped leaves, neat angles in architecture, a well-designed movie poster or restaurant menu.
This movie was chock full of scary/disturbing imagery. The killer video tape was designed almost as if someone had looked into Rashaka's brain, picked out the exact sequence of images that would make her freak, and put them together. And then built a horror movie around it.
( more Ring stuff, some v. spoilery )
