I found what could be my new show. You know, the one that, aside from Angel, helps my kick my Buffy withdrawal.

I was trolling an old fanfic archive I used to go to (www.firstlovefics.com), and looking at some stories, and I was reminded of something that never used to bother me when I first started with fanfiction, but now bugs the hell out of me. It's when people interupt their fics with "AN"
, author's notes. In parenthesis they type a question or comment. I never used to notice or care, but now it seriously annoys me. It interrupts the flow of the narrative and all this other stuff taht just pulls you right out of the fantasy.

I read herself_nyc's fic Disenchantment, and as soon as I finished the final lines, the power cut out.

Darn heat.

Still, having just read the end, I was immensely delighted and satisfied and all that yummy stuff that great fanfiction does for a fangirl.

First BTVS fanfic I'd read in several days. Wonderful come back.

Also, on the urgings of octipedingenue, I'm listening now to "Loverman" by Nick Cave.

It's downright creepy, with the constant refrain "How much longer?" between every line. Chanting's always freaked me out. A personal tick of mine. Hearing it in this song...it's excellently used to build tension. Unsettling lyrics. Musically, it reminds me a lot of "Cathartik" by The Tea Party (see current icon).

Ok, these beetle/junebug/brown things are starting to get annoying.

First I capture one yesterday. Then I find another one drowned in the toilet.

Tonight a third one has apparently been hiding out in my private corner of the house. It goes shooting across the room at ninety miles and hour, smashes into my computer, wobbles, and falls back behind the desk.
