I've been trying to look up the specifics of California's age fo consent laws for when both parties are under 18, but I'm finding it difficult.

So far I got this: PENAL CODE SECTION 261-269, where you can scroll down to section 261.5, where they define rape as with a minor of less than 18 and an adult of over 18. But I can't seem to find anything more specific about two minors.

While looking that up, however, I found this:

It's an interesting chart that displays California's age of consent for various other topics including abortion, emergency contraception, medical services, mental health services, etc etc.

What I really like about Naruto is that every relationship, big or small, between friends or rivals or loves or mentors and students or enemies, is treated with care and attention. For example, Episode 41 just treated me to a back history of Sakura and Ino and their rivalry-- and it was a lot more interesting and subtle than just fighting over a boy. This show seems to do that a lot... there are many transitional episodes before big explosions of events, but those transitional eps tend to give the most generously to the characters.

I'm so used to expecting the worst out of anime, thinking that only a few exalted ones rise to something that I'd consider equal to most television or film or books, or better. When I get surprised, like I consistantly have been surprised by Naruto, it makes me fall in love with anime all over again. I think the linear storyline helps a lot with that-- this show doesn't have a monster of the week thing, so everything that happens is very continuity-based.

Also, it's getting darker as it goes. I expect it to get hella darker by the end, too.
