timepiececlock: (Promise4 - not to leave)
I skipped Inu Yasha tonight. I remember this ep and I didn't much like it the first time around. Next week's episode though-- that's a good one.

I did watch Wolf's Rain ep#3. In comparison to most anime, this has lovely art and lovely music. However, the story... it's so average. It's so... mundane. It's a normal anime bishounen plotline with one-dimensional characters from same production company that made CB, which was full of fascinating plotlines and extraordinary characters. I can't help but compare them, and Wolf's Rain suffers for the comparison. Not because it's bad or anything--- it's just not great.

And the little one is just so fucking annoying.

Oh well. This is only episode 3 after all, and there's two dozen more eps to go. I'll be watching next week as usual.

Oh god--- am I going to be able to watch cable in my dorm at UCI? I can't lose Cartoon Network-- it's kill me! Gotta find a way, gotta find a way...

I've decided to write a 1,000 word Dead Like Me fic for [livejournal.com profile] anniesj's apocalyptic The Day After Tomorrow ficathon.

Cause I'm thinking... there's got to be a hell of a lot of violent deaths in that situation. And lots of George angst.

Every time I hear someone shout "Man the torpedoes!" in an old war film, all that my ears hear is "Damn the torpedoes!"

And then my brain goes funny (but hollywood-style patriotic) places like "Hell yeah! Damn them! We don't need torpedoes! We've got LASERS, asshole!"

But then they fire the torpedoes and my brain gets stuck in a rut wondering why they fired the torpedoes expecting them to work when they just damned them moments ago. Or were they damning them just for extra punch--- like they could send out blessed torpedoes if they wanted, but who the hell would waste blessed torpedoes on Nazi U-boats or Russian subs anyway? Better to give them the damned torpedoes, just to spite the bastards to the very end!

Around .3 seconds in my brain has usually passed by now, and I finally realize "Oh, they said man the torpedoes. Ok."

This process repeats itself invariably any time I hear that phrase. Sometimes you can't trust your own ears.

What the FUCK am I listening to?

"Take your momma out cause tonight you're a full grown man..."

Sure. So not hearing that anymore. Annoying.

Oh my gah. Oh my gah.

If Cartoon Network were to ever edit this for Toonami, I swear I'll kill myself. There's no possible way they can make this into a show for 9 year olds. It has to go to Adult Swim.

Oh my gah.

Episode spoilers-- Brief because I can't think a thought in my brain right now... )
