Dude, Spike/Ed fic just creeps me out. For Cowboy Bebop fic I mean. Especially since the writers seem to think they're all rebellious and strong-stomached for writing a controversial pairing.

And yet I never see any Jet/Ed pairings, which would be jsut as bad but no worse. I want to yell at the Spike/Ed people "If you're so rebellious and self-cool because you write a cotnroversial pairing, why are you writing Jet/Ed? Because Jet is too much like her father-figure, and it would be ooky, right? Yeah. So much for your rebellious nature."

On the other hand, I read a fic recently where Ed had a crush on Spike (who was as expected totally oblivious). That amused me a great deal because they had her very in character in that she reacted like you'd expect Ed with a crush at 13 to act-- oddly.

I saw a magazine picture of a model with Sasuke!hair last week.

I wanted to rip teh picture out of the magazine or even just steal the magazine from the waiting room, just so I could run home and scan it for you guys.

But it was most definitely Sasuke!hair. long bangs in the front. Short and sticking out in an upward/outward sweep in the back. And best of all: black with blue highlights.

It was Sasuke!hair. I wish I could have scanned it.

I just saw a tv-ad for TokyoPop and manga, with like 3 different manga titles and lots of stylish pic-flashing. It was an ad aimed at the teen market, and it used the word "manga" !

If anything, that's what I love about anime and manga getting more popular these days. The people who liscence stuff are calling it manga and anime, not japanese comics and japanimation.

I'm kinda buzzed about all this main-streamy-ness. I know the purists bitch about things like this, but honestly having the manga and anime translated means I get to see more titles than I ever would have otherwise. Wheeeee.

I'm going to add Gungrave (series) and Spriggan (a movie) to my anime to-watch list. Anyone have any opinions on these?

Harry blinks a couple of times. "Why?"

"Oh. OK. When do we start?"

"Now, coward!"

Harry shrugs and snaps his fingers and you are suddenly impaled by twenty-three swords at once! How cool is that! OK, it's not completely cool because you quickly die, but Harry Potter cast a spell on you! That's awesome!

Damn, this fic is hard on my heath. Must be why I love it.

And it still surprises me, after like 90 something chapters (when you add the previous fic). And it still makes me gasp. It's still hot, and still kick-ass, and the characterization is still amazing, maybe even better, and I still love each new chapter as much as I loved them 30 chapters ago. And I still love the O.C., Ezekiel. Maybe because he's so much like Spike, but maybe because he's not Spike. And I have theories on what's going on with Faye in the latest chapters. If they prove true, I want everyone to go back and reread the chapter 43 reviews and note that I called it. I called it!

But it might not be that at all, because this fic surprises me.


I still love the dialogue. And the descriptions. And the style... it's so awesome when a fic this long only gets better as it goes, and doesn't lose steam or lessen the emotional punch.

This is one of my ultimate fandom fics, certainly my ultimate Cowboy Bebop fic.
