Constantine
Feb. 18th, 2005 03:20 pmWhew! Just got back from a matinee showing of Constantine.
My vote? I liked it.
Surprisingly, I was very entertained.
However, I acknowledge that this isn't the kind of movie that will entertain everybody. It's very dark and gloomy visually-- a lot like how Se7en was dark all the time. And it's very monster-gorey. lots of gore of monsters, not as much human gore. Definitely a bit squicky in a few places... the way the first Mummy movie was kinda squicky.
The photography style was interesting; very unusual composition of the frame in some scenes; probably inedned to look like comic book style. I noticed it more in the beginning than in the end.
Keanu Reeves was hot. So was Gavin Rossdale, although if I was supposed to find his character scary, I didn't. Rachel Weiz was pretty, as she usually is, and I liked her character well too.

EDIT: Also, I SAW THE TRAILER FOR HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE! ON A BIG SCREEN! I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!
