two new space shows? maybe, maybe not

I've watched two episodes of the new Doctor Who so far.

It keeps making me think of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I want to ask the Doctor "Where's your towel, man? What kind of travelling alien are you? You never leave the phone booth without your towel!"

The look of the show reminds me of Farscape. Very bright and colorful.



Battlestar Galactica

On Friday I watched BSG for the first time. It was the episode with the jail break and the terrorist.

My overall reaction: Eh. Ergh. Feh. ::shrug::

It didn't blow me away. The acting was fine. The requisite hot guy was indeed hot. But the overall plot left me kinda bored. And the way it wrapped up felt way too neat. Like a room of a few hundred hardened criminals in that situation would all just throw down their weapons. Right. Bridge, anyone? I've got bridges for sale! Super sale today only!

I need a new fandom like a need a hole in the head.

Doctor Who, episodes 3 & 4

1. How can I be expected to read my textbook on the National Security Agency when I am tempted with these episodes of some alien doctor fighting zombies with Charles Dickens and saving the world from alien pigs?! How, I ask you?

2. WHAT? How can it end on a cliffhanger like that? EPISODE FIVE. NOW!

3. They are so shippy. So he's an alien and probably asexual or christmas-tree-sexual or something.

Who cares?

I watched 4 seasons of Farscape, yo. Inter-species alien lovin' and black leather jackets is what TV is all about.
