Ed says dress your age.
Sep. 17th, 2005 09:00 pmWas searching for bits of FMA stuff on the internet and by accident, came across this page: http://www.fullmetalalchemist.info/misc.html, about random FMA trivia from the anime.
If you scroll down (it's a short page), you can see a picture progression of how Edward's outfit changes thorugh the series. This was ALL SHOCKING AND STUFF to me because, dude, I totally never noticed the small outfit differences beyond the loss of the red jacket. It's all in the collar, little alchemist dude.
The 4 pictures also serve as a nice visual display of how Ed's character design, especially his face, change over the course of the series. I noticed sometime around the last few episodes of the series, the first time I watched it. But I've always had trouble defining exactly how they aged him. But they did manage to age him-- he looks different at 15 than at 16, and it's not a change of hairstyle. That's pretty impressive attention to detail for anime.
I think it happens in two major areas-- his eyes and his chin. The picture on this page doesn't show it well, but his eyes do look different by the final ten eps than they did in the first half of the show. I think they get more almond-shaped, and a little higher in his face. His chin also seems a shade longer and more defined. His neck has always been fairly long, but you can see the definition with the open-jacket style that you couldn't see with the 15-year-old version of the character.
Anyway, this was your Random Full Metal Alchemist Post Of The Week. That will be all!
