FMA dub 49
Mar. 6th, 2006 02:05 pmHm. That was probably the best all-around dub of the entire series so far. Not one misstep, and they actually made that conversation between Winry and Scieszka a little clearer than I remembered it being. Ed's VA was wonderful, Dante's was note-perfect-evil, Glassy-Eyed-Rose was still decidedly creepy, and Hohenheim was cool too. Wrath was whiny in a good-acting way, and Envy was perfect.
Envy's voice was one of the ones that really surprised me over the course of the dub--at first I was wary of it but eventually the actress was able to make Envy sound evil, angry, and androgynous. Even more androgynous when angry, which is true for the original Envy voice as well.
Ed was, for most of season 1, my least favorite voice for the main cast. I've long since gotten over that and accepted him, and I've really liked him in the last 15 or so episodes. Of course, it's a little strange after rewatching the movie with Paku Romi's voice, who will ALWAYS be Edward in my mind, but... all in all I've come to completely love the FMA dub.
((though the Hohenheim/Envy spoiler that they needlessly inserted into episode 47 still totally pisses me off.))
