Jun. 29th, 2006 01:03 amI was watching this History Channel ad for their upcoming segment on 17th century piracy called "True Caribbean Pirates."
Unfortunately when the ad reached its conclusion and the narrator announced the show and when it was going to air, he said "Caribbean" like the people say the movie or the Disney ride.
I forgive the movie, because that's how people have pronounced the Disney ride for ages. But the History channel? YOU I CANNOT FORGIVE! You're the History channel, man. I've always had such faith in you. You should know that it's pronounced CUHribbean not CAERribBEan. Anyone who's actually been there or talked to someone who's been there or watched a movie about there would know that. Disney channel can be lazy about it. You, History Channel... I expected better. It's like pronouncing the "s" in Illinois. You just don't do it.
