movie: Just Friends
Jul. 7th, 2006 09:45 pmNot as entertaining as I'd secretly, very secretly hoped from the commercial, but just as immature as I expected.
Mostly, what suprised me was the way they actually made Ryan Reynolds less hot. And I'm not talking about the fatsuit-- the whole movie he was just... not as hot as he normally is. I blame the cinematopher and dressing crews. I mean, come on people! This is the guy who spent the entire duration of The Amityville Horror running around shirtless and psychotic. This is the guy who made me like beards because he had one in Blade: Trinity! How can you limit his hotness like this? It's like you're deliberately trying to ruin what wonderful assets he has for display.
Maybe if they'd set the movie somewhere where it wasn't snowing, then he could spend more time with his shirt off. That would have helped.
Mostly it was just a "bleh" movie. Some of the jokes were funny, but none of them were really great (the best were from the dentist frien, but he wasn't in enough scenes.) I didn't really buy into the romance, either. I spent a great deal of time wondering where the movie was going. Many a cliche was utilized.
If I wrote the movie...( Spoilers... )
