tv update: Battlestar 3x03

Will someone please point me to some Leoben fanfic? His is the kind of crazy I want to read about in text and at great lengths. Possibly Kara/Leoben, if you have it.
I'm harboring a secret desire that she'll meet an entirely different Leoben (what number is he?) who is not the one she's had this weird connection with since a season ago, and that one, who has no memory of interacting with her, will be to her like Sharon is to Helo.
Of course, that would mean something would have to happen to Starbuck's hubby, and that's not okay because he's good people.
The Episode
Better than the premier. I still can't tell if the season is headed toward Crazy Land or Cool Place. My dad is betting on Crazy Land, but I have hopes that this season the show might rise out of the Pit Of Suck and at least get started on Halfway Decent Lane again.
Can I do a happy dance out of hopes that the imminent separation means we might go half a season without any plotline involving Lee? Because he's the least interesting character at this point. And that has nothing to do with physical appearences... I stopped caring about him around 2x14 and haven't missed him since.
I love Lucy Lawless with blond hair. She's just cool as a blond.
Speaking of blonds... the little blond kid is evil. She has to be. Because ( spoilers for 3x01-3x03 ) [/end spoilers]
As a matter of general speculation, I'm having major logic issues with the whole humans & cylons falling in love and attempting to crossbreed thing that's been a theme for over a season and a half now. I mean, what is the friggin' point? The cylons aren't born biologically... and if they become so closely matched to humans that they can breed WITH humans and half fertile offspring... then guess what, THEY'RE HUMANS. You can't merge two different things into a unique new thing if one of the two things you're breeding is just a xerox of the other thing. They're too similar for the end result to be that new or interesting. So eventually this whole "merging" thing is going to go one of two ways:
a) the human aspect is eventually done away with, and the cylons become like the Borg, never breeding naturally because the humans and hybrids simply die out or lose the natural aspect of themselves until they are totally cylon.
b) the cylons keep breeding with the humans until the synthetic part is bred out... and there's only natural humans left.
Either the human side overtakes the cylon aspect because humans are many and can breed swiftly, or the cylons do away with the inefficiences of humanity and give up on trying to become their makers by having sex with mommy or daddy. They've managed to make the Oedipus and Electra complexes applicable on a genus-wide scale. It's almost gotten silly.
Another brief comment, on a relatively unspoilery quote from episode 3x03: ( Read more... )
