So the B/S fanfiction Vinum Et Rosae, sequel to Sang et Ivoire, has finally come to an end, at 260,000+ words and 58 chapters.

I took a temporary somewhere in the mid-30s, when the shit had started to really hit the fan.

I want to finish it, but I'm afraid that if I do, it will yank my heart out and crush it to pieces.

Someone tell me... will I be satisfied and at least semi-happy with the end? Yes/No. And no pulling my chain here, please. :pout:

Your heart will be torn and twisted and pulled in many, many directions, but in the end, it will be in one happy, glowy piece...and probably a bit emotionally exhausted *g*

Worth the ride, though.

Good. That's all I wanted to hear. Thank you. ::huggles Ali::

I've had it with the angst fest. I too dropped the story when things got really grotesque. Not to rain on Holly. She's a great talent. I'm just tired of stories where angst is the star and focal point of the "story". Don't give me angst for angst's sake. I was especially frustrated back in those last few weeks prior to BtVS's conclusion -- where the trend was about "who could out angst who" or who could write the most twisted messed up story -- and it's still that way to an extent. Aside from a couple of authors who still have W'sIP I've been weaning myself off BtVS fiction.

I didn't drop it-- I was always intending to finish reading it. I just stopped at one point for some school reason, and later just kept saving the chapters for later without actually reading them.

::gets sad on leslina's behalf:: I'm sorry to hear that. Then again, you're not sorry about it, so, um, never mind. :)

*chuckle* Nope Im not sorry about it all. BtVS fic just isn't as exciting as it used to be. People are too caught up with the "angst-ometer". I want to read something more meaty.

Can I get the link for the first story? I have been debating forever weather to read this or not, because I am so very annoyed with Spike calling himself William in fic, and was told it continues throughout this one(which, in my opinon, isn't B/S at all..) But I am fic free and willing to give it another try...

Oh my god, YOU HAVE TOO.

I can't comment on this without spoiling you. And you really REALLY don't want to be spoiled for it. Seriously, read it to the very end. I felt like I was watching a whole nother version of the show, with the same amount of my loyalty given to every update as was given to Joss on Tuesday nights.

I swear, you must must MUST read it. You know that Garbage song lyric "I want to break your heart and give you mine".... that's what this fic does to you. For good and bad, better or worse, up, down, and all around.

If you follow the link and click on the author's name, you'll see it there in her profile. She has a much shorter fic, called Cupidity, that I quite liked too. That one was more fun, less dramatic.

I got your back, braintwin. 's all good. Now go forth an enjoy the fic. And no matter what, finish it. Because you won't believe where it goes by the end.
