So how come none of the Buffy music video makers ever make parody movie trailers?

Anime fans do that all the time. You take the audio track from a popular movie trailer, and instead you fill it with clips from your show/fandom. It looks pretty cool. And funny.

EXTRA: I added links in the comments below to 3 really cool vid examples if you're curious about what I'm talking about.

Can you point one out so I can see? This sounds interesting.

Hmmm.... sounds like a good idea. I really want to make a trailer trailer with the pulse-pounding Hans Zimmer music to boot. BuffyX did a wonderful one for "Lies My Parents Told Me".

Sure!

There's three excellent ones here:

You have to scroll down, but the title are:

"NOD YA HEAD!" - Men In Black II trailer
anime: Big O

"COWBOY BEBOP 007" - James Bond trailer
anime: Cowboy Bebop

"WITCH HUNTER ROBIN: RELOADED" - Matrix: Reloaded trailer
anime: Witch Hunter Robin

I think they're all great, but the last one is the slickest and snazziest.

Feeling inspired? ::elbows Green::

I watched that one. It was pretty awesome. I put some links in the reply above, if you want examples of fan trailers made from movies.
