Reading your post just gave me all of these warm and fuzzies -- "OMWF" was definitely written romantically, and I've always liked the way that Joss has written the Buffy/Spike dynamic: with care. Usually, Joss-written Spuffy scenes are quieter, more subdued, and more emotionally charged. I mean, "Hell's Bells" has one of my favorite B/S scenes of all time, because they were just radiant together. It was beautiful.
