he was hot too... but I just watched the last clip of the ep with the prey mantis teacher, and Angel looked so young and skinny and really, really cute... moreso than even in season 2. Way more so than now.

well, I'm talking plain physicality here. Actually, I don't find Angel fo the latter seasons to be as physically attractive as he was 7 years ago. Sure, he's all conflicted and seduced by evil and stuff, which makes him more interesting, but he's just not as pretty. As angelically faced.

I agree. I don't find AtS Angel to be very attractive at all. He's too square. However, in the early years of Buffy - especially Season 1, he was all young and thin and cute.

I was just going to reply that I find AtS season 2 to be the Year of Hot Angel. Of course, that's also probably because I loved his character most then, caught up in the Darla storyline and his whole Beige Period.

Currently, Angel seems to suffer from looking rather block-headish, a condition that has become more pronounced over the years. I do agree that he was his loveliest back in Buffy season 1. He's certainly not unattractive to me now, just not the object of lust he was back then. I lust after Wes now.

Certainly not unattracive, just not really "pretty" in the prettyboy sense anymore. More adult block-ish handsomey.

And yeah, I'm all ovber the Wes!Love too. He's the reason I started to watch AtS last year.

I find season 2 Angel to be the hottest. That said, I'm always amused by his appearance in episodes such as "Lie to Me", during which he is clearly wearing more makeup than Willow. :D
