Hey, the blond chick's not in this! Yes!!

The doctor lady is so much cuter. Like Fred, but less pencil-thin and less irritating.

Jake? Way cute. Not gorgeous, but really, really cute. I'd like to pinch his cheeks and then make out with him. Maybe ruffle his hair.

His two bosses? The woman is kinda cool, but still not all that terribly interesting to me. Maybe because I missed some episodes. But I'm guessing not every boss/mentor/leader person can be a Giles. Giles is such a fabulous character... ok, going off track here. Anyway, the lady's cool. His other boss, the agent-guy... I haven't watched enough episodes to really talk about him either. But so far he seems kinda blah to me. Like the boss lady. None of them inspire a great reaction.

I was a bit surprised that the old general died. Didn't he get shot in The X Files too? I guess punishment for helping in the quest for The Truth can follow you even into yuor next show... still I was surprised, because I got from the interaction that he was a significant character. But that could have been because I have no episodes but the first to use as a reference, and maybe he was jsut a one-episode killoffable guy.

The weasel-y leader of the wolf pack was the funny accented guy from Firefly! I liked his Ff character better, but he was alright here. Except for the cigar thing. No "most fit and dangerous man in battle" would ruin his shape by smoking cigars.

As an episode, this was good. The "all of them are traitors" part was rather predictable, but I was pleased by the scene with Jake shooting his boss. --Now, wait! I'm not a twisted psycho... well, ok, a little, but I liked it for story reasons. This is what Buffy has done to me in a meager 2 years... made me appreciate the literary value of "Never go for the kill when you can go for the pain." Bless His Wickedness, Master D'Hoffran....

Anyway, the rant was good. But I didn't like the part in the bar where boss!Agent said on the phone to boss!Lady, "He's becomming one of them now." C'mon... he was there for a few DAYS! And he hadn't even done anything beyond a few mean pranks yet. Stick him in training for 3-6 months, and then complain that he's turning into a funny creature. That little scene rang kinda campy to me. Just that one line though-- the scene at the table was alright (though it reminded me of a hundred movies I can't name), and even if the plot was nothing new, at least it was decently acted and well directed.

Now, with all these complaints, why am I still here?

Well, because I kinda liked it.

It's not Buffy (nothing will be!), and it still reminds me of The Invisible Man, but I kinda liked it.
