Playstation 2: LotR- Return of the King

I sat down tonight and played the Paths of the Dead, from the checkpoint, with Aragorn. I beat it on the second try (after how many times of trying last night.)
I beat it all the way through with Legolas on the second try, and all the way through with Gimli on the second try. I'm rather proud of the Gimli effort; Legolas and Aragorn are very similar in playing style-- Gimli is slower to kill and takes more effort and more maneuvering.
Then I tried the King of the Dead once with Aragorn, and failed. So I said "That can wait-- now time for hobbitses!" And so I play Escape From Osgiliath with Sam, and got to the checkpoint on the first try. Then I tried to go farther, and got creamed. So I decided to call it a night, and go to sleep. I don't think you can save on checkpoints though, so I'm leaving the whole thing on pause all night. Worked fine last night.
I think the easiest ones to play are Aragorn and Legolas. Sam has to hit more times to kill an orc, and Gimli takes a lot of jumping backward to give time to attack fiercly. Sam's pretty fast though. I think I'm finally getting the hang of the control arrangement for attacks and stuff, so it's all starting to make sense now, and I'm no longer pushing random buttons in an effort to fell my enemy by enthusiasm alone-- the tactic I use in most fighting games and often chess too. And now I feel an overwhleming urge to qualify that statement with a note that I am not actually a very good chess player.
