A difference in my viewing, I think, is that blatantly stealing from a genre to make a film in that genre doesn't really bother me, if I like the genre. Of course originality is always better, but I'm pretty blase' about cliche's in film. The more I read and watch as I get older, the better I become at picking out such things anyway, a practice I enjoy.
For all that it's better than the two matrix sequels...
