I'm familiar with the expression, for sure, but I've just never been in the habit of using it. I think I associate it with being vaguely disparaging to Asians. Can't say I've ever given it much thought.

I've definitely heard people say 'chop chop', but now I think about it, that may have been on TV or something! "Pick up the pace" would probably be the phrase I hear the most, or "get a move on." My gran says "skedaddle" (I'm guessing at that spelling), which was definitely accompanied by a hand clap!

I know what it means, but it sounds a bit peremptory to me so I don't use it.
