I finally found the song that was played on the last season finale of The West Wing--the version by Jeff Buckley.

I couldn't resist adding my favorite 2 lines to the achingly sad piccy of Spike (screencap brought to yours truly by _wisteria). I thought they seemed apporpriate for Spike. The whole song does, really.

I near cried when I heard this on the WW ep... it was played in the aftermath of when the achingly charming Secret Service agent was killed.
