Naruto 82

::hyperventilating::

Oh my gah. Oh my gah.

If Cartoon Network were to ever edit this for Toonami, I swear I'll kill myself. There's no possible way they can make this into a show for 9 year olds. It has to go to Adult Swim.

Oh my gah.

Kakashi!!! KAKAAAAAAASHIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

And the plot advancement! Hey-yeah!

I love how Jeraiya goes around having all these clandestine meetings with people. Ebisu... the village councelmembers...Kakashi. Like, "I'm so cool and powerful that I only meet with other cool guys of your village in mysterious settings and pass on shaded warnings, because I'm just too hip to call a town meeting of all the Jounins and pass on news like normal people do."

::cries for Kakashi's pain some more:: Three days!

Oh, the angst. I need to write bloody painful Kakashi angstfic now...

Thank god for Gai. Except, how the heck did Kurenai and Asuma get to be jounins if they're so useless in a fight? Okay, I'm being unfair. That tree thing was pretty cool, and so was Asuma's PsychoticHookKnife. And to be fair, they were out of their league with Itachi. As was... ::sniffle:: ...Kakashi.

Oh the pain the pain!

i think kurenai and asuma just haven't confronted the sharingan that much.

i was so on the edge of my seat though, when i realized that itachi was after fricken naruto.

i love this show.

oh yeah and hi. :D

I had a feeling, because I'm semi-spoiled in reference to some larger plot points (a symptom of trying to find fic on ff.net... which I've stopped doing cause everyone spoils everything there), but I had no idea that it would happen like this, with these characters, and Kakashi versus Itachi.

Curious question-- do you think Itachi is a bishounen? Because I don't think he's attractively designed at all. Hope Sasuke doesn't grow up to look like him-- and I've finally started to really like Sasuke's character, too.

Are you manga-spoiled? It would be nice to talk to someone who wasn't, because everyone else on my FList who watches it has read the manga, and I am always slightly nervous talking to them because I know they know stuff that I don't (and don't want to.)

I was on the edge of my seat too.

Weirdly, Naruto is the only fandom where I actively think yaoi thoughts and write yaoi fic. Not for Naruto/Sasuke (*puke*) ... I am watching the secret lethal attraction of Kakashi and Kabuto. It's a hate/passion/hate/hate/passion/hate/hate/hate thing.

::squints at your icon::

Hey... is that? ::freaks:: No! Milly! Spike!

Don't forsake them, Wolfwood, Faye!

Although, that would be kinda hot. Weird, but hot.

[identity profile] brigidforest.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
no, i haven't read the manga. i refuse to let the manga spoil the UNGH!fighting scenes and plot moments in the anime.

you know kakashi/kabuto is kind of hot. :D

and no, itachi doesn't do a thing for me, except make me shudder at his amazing skills.

hahaha, the wolfwoodxfaye thing is an inside joke between [livejournal.com profile] donna_c_punk and i. she wrote a trigun/cb crossover and it had a couple of really hot faye/wolfwood moments. i said i would create some icons for our little private 'shipperdom (composed of two people) and bang.

but god, they are hot together. almost hotter than spike/faye. shh. don't tell them over at fayeandspike that i said that. :))

I'm that way too. I've looked at enough (I own volume 2) of it to know that the anime follows it exactly, so I decided I'd rather have the excitement of watching it in color and in motion rather than the manga.

kakashi/kabuto

They are. Especially with this as their theme song:

http://www.anyanka.net/rashaka_things/Uploaded_Files_(Current)/Sneaker%20Pimps%20-%20Bloodsport.mpga

I iconed it because it speaks kakashi/kabuto to me every time.

You guys are weird. The manga comes first and it should be the primary thing to follow. The anime is secondary, has a shorter budget and tends to be a trunkated version of the manga. MANGA MANGA MANGA! Come on! Read it! Ah well, I've always chosen pulp over tv.

[identity profile] spikespeigel.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
Amen! I've been trying to pound that into [livejournal.com profile] rashaka's brain for a while now, but I guess them young'uns likes thems their moving pic-i-tyurs.

says the little man with the animated icon

[identity profile] spikespeigel.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
*Channels inner Zoidberg* You had to bring animation into this!

And, since RahXephon didn't have a manga (not that I know of at least), I can only icon what I have. So there :p

Come on. You know I only said that so I could use the phrase "little man." It was too tempting.

[identity profile] jaina.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
What if the anime is better than the manga? It has happened. Though you might be speaking of Naruto specifically, in which case I can bugger off.

Gundam Wing. Have you even seen the atrocity they tried to call "manga" for that show? I cry.

[identity profile] jaina.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 08:21 am (UTC)(link)
Hell, look at Trigun. The manga is fun, but the storytelling is MUCH tighter in the anime.
ext_10182: Anzo-Berrega Desert (Default)

[identity profile] rashaka.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I at least love the art in the Trigun manga though. GW... ::cries:: Though to be fair, the GW manga that takes place before and after the series is very good--- done by a totally different artist/writer, of course.

[identity profile] rashaka.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 01:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually own volume 3 of Trigun in Japanese. Don't have the English yet. I go flipping through it, like "What's that?" "I dunno." "What's going on?" "Beats me-- but hey I think this guy is Wolfwood so I'm happy."

[identity profile] leslina.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 11:32 am (UTC)(link)
In this instance I am referring to Naruto, but in general I dare say 90% of most anime on Japanese TV started on the shelf of a manga shop. In some instances companies will even produce a manga version of a popular anime series (ie Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangeleon etc). Then you have OAV which are produced and released for Television, theatre and home video/dvd purchase.

[identity profile] rashaka.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I have every intention of reading the manga. AFTER I've seen events in the anime. I've already started reading some of it, and I love it too. But it's more exciting to watch it than to read it.

[identity profile] leslina.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
Heee! That's exactly why I view an anime version of a manga as an added treat. ^__^ It's exciting to see characters you heart come to life in full color.

[identity profile] leslina.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
Oh and it's been my experience that a manga spin off of anime series is usually crap >_< (ie Cowboy Bebop ... :/)
ext_10182: Anzo-Berrega Desert (Default)

[identity profile] rashaka.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes. Cowboy Bebop. Gundam Wing. Shoot me now.

I actually read the first volume of Neon Genesis Eva and think that was a spin-off, and it was okay. Because the art looked exactly like the tv series and seemed to follow word for word.

[identity profile] brigidforest.livejournal.com 2004-05-10 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
see, but the manga ruins the anime, whereas the anime does not ruin the manga. the manga is unruinable. then again, i'm not fond of comic books. :D

the manga is unruinable.

That's a good point. I will have to use that in future for/against arguments.

I'm not into comic books-- but I love manga.
