::hyperventilating::

Oh my gah. Oh my gah.

If Cartoon Network were to ever edit this for Toonami, I swear I'll kill myself. There's no possible way they can make this into a show for 9 year olds. It has to go to Adult Swim.

Oh my gah.

Kakashi!!! KAKAAAAAAASHIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

And the plot advancement! Hey-yeah!

I love how Jeraiya goes around having all these clandestine meetings with people. Ebisu... the village councelmembers...Kakashi. Like, "I'm so cool and powerful that I only meet with other cool guys of your village in mysterious settings and pass on shaded warnings, because I'm just too hip to call a town meeting of all the Jounins and pass on news like normal people do."

::cries for Kakashi's pain some more:: Three days!

Oh, the angst. I need to write bloody painful Kakashi angstfic now...

Thank god for Gai. Except, how the heck did Kurenai and Asuma get to be jounins if they're so useless in a fight? Okay, I'm being unfair. That tree thing was pretty cool, and so was Asuma's PsychoticHookKnife. And to be fair, they were out of their league with Itachi. As was... ::sniffle:: ...Kakashi.

Oh the pain the pain!

You guys are weird. The manga comes first and it should be the primary thing to follow. The anime is secondary, has a shorter budget and tends to be a trunkated version of the manga. MANGA MANGA MANGA! Come on! Read it! Ah well, I've always chosen pulp over tv.

*Channels inner Zoidberg* You had to bring animation into this!

And, since RahXephon didn't have a manga (not that I know of at least), I can only icon what I have. So there :p

Come on. You know I only said that so I could use the phrase "little man." It was too tempting.

What if the anime is better than the manga? It has happened. Though you might be speaking of Naruto specifically, in which case I can bugger off.

Gundam Wing. Have you even seen the atrocity they tried to call "manga" for that show? I cry.

Hell, look at Trigun. The manga is fun, but the storytelling is MUCH tighter in the anime.

I at least love the art in the Trigun manga though. GW... ::cries:: Though to be fair, the GW manga that takes place before and after the series is very good--- done by a totally different artist/writer, of course.

I actually own volume 3 of Trigun in Japanese. Don't have the English yet. I go flipping through it, like "What's that?" "I dunno." "What's going on?" "Beats me-- but hey I think this guy is Wolfwood so I'm happy."

In this instance I am referring to Naruto, but in general I dare say 90% of most anime on Japanese TV started on the shelf of a manga shop. In some instances companies will even produce a manga version of a popular anime series (ie Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangeleon etc). Then you have OAV which are produced and released for Television, theatre and home video/dvd purchase.

Oh, I have every intention of reading the manga. AFTER I've seen events in the anime. I've already started reading some of it, and I love it too. But it's more exciting to watch it than to read it.

Heee! That's exactly why I view an anime version of a manga as an added treat. ^__^ It's exciting to see characters you heart come to life in full color.

Oh and it's been my experience that a manga spin off of anime series is usually crap >_< (ie Cowboy Bebop ... :/)

Oh yes. Cowboy Bebop. Gundam Wing. Shoot me now.

I actually read the first volume of Neon Genesis Eva and think that was a spin-off, and it was okay. Because the art looked exactly like the tv series and seemed to follow word for word.

see, but the manga ruins the anime, whereas the anime does not ruin the manga. the manga is unruinable. then again, i'm not fond of comic books. :D

the manga is unruinable.

That's a good point. I will have to use that in future for/against arguments.

I'm not into comic books-- but I love manga.
