Why do people put themselves on their friends lists?

So many do this. I seriously don't understand why. Is it like trendy or something?

Random side note: FLCL or Furi Curi is cool. Too bad there's only 6 episodes.

I have noticed this practice.

I don't get it.

I use myself as a bookmark of sorts. Yeah, I'm weird.

Likewise.

I sometimes don't get to read my friends list for a couple of days and knowing where 'I' last posted helps me know where to read back to.

I've been wondering this too. The only logical explanation I can come up with is that you can automatically see whether someone, whose info page you are first visiting, has friended you, as your name'd be standing out all in bold...

There's also filtering and display tricks you can do when you're on your own Flist.

Me too. That and my posts never look the same on my journal page as they do on the friends page... so I use the friends page to double check that it all posted ok. (yes, I am actually that anal)

I can see that. It makes sense if you check your friends page a lot.

They just wanna read their own entry in the context of their friendslist? It seems a bit...masturbatory, but that may be just me. *g*

I sometimes click on other people's friends list to read my recent entries, out of context.

FLCL, the only good thing about that series are the soundtracks. The Pillows rock. Other than that, I don't fancy series that fancy themselves so 'deep' and 'artistic'. The whole series is basically one big inside joke for animators that 'we unenlightened' aren't supposed to get. -_-

That was my big problem with most of Evangelion, particularly the final two episodes. But FLCL... there's a lot of in-jokes I don't get, and some of it is deliberately unexplainable for the sake of being unexplainable, but I think the themes are actually easier to follow than themes in Eva. Probably because FLCL is about growing up whereas Eva was neck-deep in Christian imagery and psychology that I really don't have the education to properly even attempt to understand. I think the reason I don't mind the obscurity of FLCL is that the show doesn't seem to really make any promises of explaining later and then pulling out on you. It just doesn't explain at all.

Then again, I haven't seen the last two episodes.
