I always thought he would have made a great Aragorn (though believe me, the guy from LotR is well casted too).
It's so funny that you said that- I was just thinking the same thing last night. I have an amazingly huge crush on Viggo Mortensen and have ever since I checked out his paintings a few years ago- he's very talented (and so hot it kills me- even when under a layer of Aragon gunk and grime). But the Husband and I were watching the new LoTR DVD that has the extra 30+ minutes and trying to figure out how we would recast it (not that we'd really want to, it's so well casted) and I immediatly thought of the Marcus actor (Jason... I can't remember his last name). He'd pull off the whole dangerous but good guy thing really well.
And Garibaldi was fun too. Sorta like Spike's current plotline, actually. The Big Bad took control and made him do terrible things he'd never do otherwise, and then a nice redemption/forgiveness plotline. Heh. I see Spike everywhere. Therapy, here I come. :P
