World at large:

The employees at the Ford Dealership in Red Bluff, California are generally kind and helpful folk, who let you control the satellite tv and let your dog wander around their building for several hours when you are stranded there, and give you rides back and forth to a motel so you'd don't have to get a taxi, and generally make themselves helpful.

I reccomend them if you ever have a breakdown in the vicinity of Red Bluff and your Ford vehicle happens to chew its own knees off.

Yeah. The receptionist at the dealership was nice though--- youngish, born there. I looked at the phone book and asked her "where should I spend the night?" and she was all "Definitely not here. And...No, not this one. I really wouldn't go here; there's sometimes drug busts at this one. These two would probably be pretty good." I was thankful.
