octopedingenue, you must realize that I own your soul now. By accepting FMA on CD as b-day present so long ago (at least it feels that way) you gave me your soul. This is the best show in the world and thus I own your soul.

Regardless, you do not own my soul in part a birthday gift by its nature devoid of expected reciprocation of goods, and the transaction was both your idea and lacking a pre-arranged agreement detailing points of exchange, i.e. my immortal soul. My mystical lawyers are very firm on this point.

I would slip in a reference to Anya saying "It's a gift with PURCHASE!" somewhere here, but I'm far too sleepy.
