timepiececlock: (Ed & Al try to take over the world)

After confirming that the pineapple is indeed the tastiest, yummiest, fruitiest fruit of all fruitdom, I decided that my journal was seriously lacking in teh pirate love. (not that those two facts really have anything to do with each other)

After all, I've been reading some good things about the POTC sequel, and I just found out that One Piece plays on Saturday mornings on Fox. I'm sure I'll hate the English version, but pirate anime is pirate anime.

In conclusion, to up the level of pirate love on my LJ, I have here to present to you....PIRATE MUSIC! It's all the songs about pirates or related to pirates that I have. Sadly, not enough for a whole CD.

Which is where you come in! Share the pirate love. Post any pirate songs you have (or sailing songs, for that matter), until we have enough for a respectable CD...like 12+ or something. Happy, sad, funny, bad... any will do. Share the pirate love.

As if it were Speak Like a Pirate Day...instead think of it as Sing Like A Pirate Day.

Pirate Music!

1. Reliant K - The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A very, very funny song. You can read the lyrics here if they went by you a little fast. It's originally from Veggie Tales, but I love this cover version. "We don't wake up before lunch, when we all eat Captain Crunch." My kind of pirates.

2. Dinsey - Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life For Me: Come on. It's a classic.

3. Aquabats - Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates! Quite the amusing song, with a fun intermission in the middle about fearsome midget pirates. I first heard this song on this music video, for the anime One Piece. You don't need to know anything about OP to enjoy the video, though: just imagine a cartoon about kooky pirates being made into a music video about kooky pirates.

4. Arrogant Worms - Pirates of the Saskatchewan - I acquired this one through LJ, and it makes me happy every time I hear it. Canadian farmer pirates!

5. Captain Jack - Captain Jack (Grandale Remix) - Think pirate version of dance club music.

6. Jack Lukeman - Port of Amsterdam - My personal choice for a Captain Jack Sparrow theme song.

7. Jimmy Buffett - A Pirate Looks at 40 - One of my all-time favorite songs ever. I grew up hearing this song.

8. Sting - Valparaiso - Aaaahhh...pretty. You might recognize this from the ending credits of White Squall. Great movie.

9. Thea Gilmore - Pirate Moon - Another pretty shiny thing.

See.... only 9. That's not good at all! Must show love for pirates.
