Mar. 17th, 2005 12:33 amI watched bits and pieces of the President's press conference tonight, especially near the end. Wow. That had to be one of the worst displays of public speaking I'd ever seen. I mean, Jesus, I'm just a poor, cowardly college student who can barely give a report in class without frelling it up, and I could have bullshitted my way through those questions better than he did. There were these long, horrendous moments of waiting while he floundered. And then there were the fragmented mumblings.
It was like a chainsaw to my sense of national dignity. Not that my national dignity hasn't been already stretched to the limit by this man, but every time I hear him speak, I feel the pain anew. And this had to be the worst one I've seen yet.
I'm just going to disappear into my new 28 Days Later soundtrack and pretend that Gore is my president, that we won't be going to war with Iran before the year is out, and that the Alaskan wilds still remain untouched.
