I saw that comming when she sent them off. I'm really proud of Fuu.

OMGJinlookssoooofine at9:20in!Thehairpulledbackandshorterbangs! Yeah, I'm shallow.

okay... I'm confused. Did Jin kill his master? Or did this other guy?

...

Okay, the only thing keeping me from freaking out about Jin yet is the fact that he hasn't been shirtless yet. And I know he gets shirtless. So I shall postpone the freaking out.

::watches Mugen get shot from behind::

Okay, fuck, that's just not right! Take it back. Universe Of All Things Fannish, you cannot take Mugen from me the same way you took Eddie Dean! I forbid it! That's just not right! You can't do that to me twice, dammit!

... Okay, Jin, you're so hot. Thank you Universe Of All Things Fannish for giving me Jin hotness to look at. It's only mild compensation for Mugen, but thank you anyway.

So...Interesting. Jin never found a lord worthy of his service, but he found a lady worthy of it. And her name is Fuu.

I'm digging the ironic juxtaposition of Jin using this "final lesson" against the Big Bad just as the Little Bad is using it against Mugen.

FUCK, everybody's dying. And it's way less fair than when Spike died in CB. Spike totally had it comming, situationally and cosmically (I love Spike, but his death was so far from surprising). But this? Mugen getting shot then blown up? Jin getting stabbed? Fuck. That's just not right.

The flying bird sketches are neat... no birds, no! No eating Mugen before Fuu gets to him! Bad birds! ::grumble::

random thought: Jin is SO hot in this episode.

Yay! Everyone's not dead.

random thought #2: Jin is SO VERY hot in this episode.

Kawcrow, you were right. Jin/Mugen/Fuu are an OT3. Shipping two without the other makes no sense.

And now I totally wanna read post-series fanfic.
I wanna read a story where Jin and Fuu meet up a few years later and get together.
Then I wanna read a story where Mugen and Fuu meet up a few years later and get together.
Then I wanna read a story where Mugen and Jin meet up a few years later like a joke that begins "two guys walk into a bar..."

Overall:

Well, these last 3 episodes were good. I'm not as emotinally affected as some people on my flist, but I guess that's because I never really quite believed anyone would die. I wasn't spoiled or anything... it's just there's no story/theme reason for them to die and I would have been surprised if they had, actually. I still feel this is a series that is mostly style over substance except for a few key episodes (that would be 20-21 and 24-26) where there was a reason for me to feel worried about the characters. But overall, it's been a fun ride.

It's left me feeling much the same way as I felt after watching the ending of Cowboy Bebop. Mostly "Hmm....Okay. Well, I guess that's it then," with a little part of me being sad in CB's case...only that same little part being happy in SC's case. I kinda would like to see another season because I think it's unfair to dump all this characterization on us at the last minute and then not have more adventures later (also a problem I had with Spike's character in CB)... now that I know all the stuff I'd waited 20 episodes to know, I want to see how the trio reacts now that they all actually know each other better. I want to see how the dynamic changed after all this. Instead, the show stops just when it gets really interesting.

Well, there's always fanfic! I suspect I will be reading a lot of fanfic for this series. Fanfic can fill all the holes canon left unresolved. And though I've often had complaints (many) about the writing of the show and how it flows, it has left me me with characters I love. And if I love the characters, I will ALWAYS go for the fanfic. And since I love these three, and I love the three of them together always, I suspect I will be deep into the fanfic.

Parting thought: That sword backwards trick that Mugen did to kill the guy? Totally impossible physically. No momentum for it, not enough to make it actually decapitate the guy. Total exaggeration. But hey, that's SC for you. Fun exaggeration.

Jin killed his master. He was attacked in his sleep, and killed him without knowing who he was fighting.

Instead, the show stops just when it gets really interesting.

Apparently, the manga is supposed to go beyond the end of the anime. I'm not sure how, but there's at least some hope of more adventure.

But... how did the other guy manage to attack him so that he thought it was his master?

Oh, son of a blacksmith! I thought I was gonna get out of having to actually buy the manga for this one.

I'm not what you mean. It was his master that attacked him while he was asleep. From what I can tell, Jin didn't know who was attacking him, he just woke up to someone trying to kill him and reacted. I don't think that other guy was there at all.

He (the other guy, I forget his name, the guy Jin fought at the end) ordered Jin's master (Mariya Enshirou) to kill Jin because he didn't want the dojo to become a groups of assassins.

FUCK, everybody's dying

I was thinking the same thing while I was watching. I was freaking out. I really need to go back and watch episode 26 again while I'm calmer, since I know they all live now.

Jin is SO VERY hot in this episode.

He totally, totally was. I am still shocked about how long his hair actually was, because his pony tail didn't seem like it was holding that much hair. But, like...I don't mind. Because he was hot.

And I'm with you on wanting to read those kinds of fics you mentioned. I need post-series fic. I need to get around to searching for it.

Aaahhh... I get it. So Jin was the chosen successor, but Jin refused to be an assassin. The other guy ordered the master to kill him, and instead Jin killed him. Okay. I get it. Thanks. :)

I'm sure one of the rules on that way old fannish lists of Anime truism went something like: The amount of one's hair when worn free has no direct or indirect relation to the amount of hair one has when one has one's hair tied back.

I'm using [livejournal.com profile] octopedingenue's right now... but I sorta feel obligated to make one of my own, you know? Maybe I'll do that today.

Hee! I know some people get annoyed when a lot of people make icons of the same scene. But I really don't think there can be enough icons of this scene. Because like, the hotness will never get old. (And besides I love seeing what everyone is doing with it in icons)
