I'm two episodes into Pretear, and I have to say, [livejournal.com profile] octopedingenue, when the little kids started jumping up and saying "Me next, me next!" I also wanted to yell "That's illegal!"

The kinky undertones to this show alternate between funny and creepy. The whole thing with it being kinda like spiritual sex and then like having it with each guy eventually... that weirds me out. It would weird me out less if it was only just one knight.

Edit: Episode 3 - I...really don't like Hayate. I don't like most of the others either, although Sasame amuses because I think he's secretly evil and doesn't realize it yet. This show is giving me Sailor Moon flashbacks. Only, the supporting characters aren't as entertaining or lovable as they are in Sailor Moon. And Hayate is no Mamoru Chiba. At least Mamoru, for all his assholeish behavior, was more realistically assholeish... meaning he seemed to be an asshole to just Usagi, not the world in general, and otherwise was a fairly normal person (as seen in his very nice nonasshole friend Andrew, whose Japanese name I can't remember at the moment). You could tell his asshole tendencies were your basic third grader reaction to liking a girl: antagonizing her. Hayate just seems, so far, to be an asshole to everyone. It's not endearing him to me.
