Lately I've been listening to American Idiot.

I like this more than anything I've liked from Green Day since Dookie.

I love the fact that it feels like an album, a well thought out collection of songs with linked themes and motifs and it all fits together in a specific order. A lot of times CDs end up just being a collection of whatever songs they have out at the same time. I like it, though, when albums have that kind of cohesive togetherness. It's not the kind of one where I want to break it up and keep only a few favorite songs.

Given the political introspective nature of all of American Idiot, I can't help but wonder if "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is talking about the long shadow of 9/11. Has this been talked about by the band anywhere?

I absolutely love American Idiot. I haven't been so taken in by an album in so long, it's incredible. I'm with you on the not breaking it up, although I could just listen to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" any time. Especially since I've firmly associated it with Bruce Wayne and there's no dismissing that image.

OMG don't get me started. I am obsessed.

While "Wake Me Up When September Ends" does allude to 9/11, the song is actually about Billie Joe (the lead singer) dealing with the death of his father, which occurred when he was ten years old. Billie Joe, who is now 33, has never talked openly about his father's death, and this song is his first time dealing with it.

For all your Green Day needs I recommend visiting http://www.greendayauthority.com. Or just asking me, because I'm terribly, terribly obsessed.

I love your icon. Is there a larger image of that, with Ed in uniform? That's one of the things I was always sad we never got on FMA. Even frickin' Winry got to wear it, but not Ed.

I have a few ... they're sadly not all that large; but they're from the Chinese fan game Bluebird.

Edward in the military uniform = teh win.

I really wish I knew. All I know is it's a Chinese fan game they stopped producing. ;_; They have absolutely GORGEOUS artwork.

Those are pretty cool. Very, very close to the anime in look. Not wild about bride!Edward (he'd never allow himself to be put in that), but the military uniform and homunculus pictures are awesome.
