Stargate SG1 didn't record for me last night! What's up with that, DVR system? Why do you hurt me so? I need my Fargate!
Luckily it did record Atlantis. Already I like this new season way more than the last one. Previous week's episode was exciting, and this one so far seems pretty cool too.
The John / Asgard Techy scene was priceless. Their mutual narrowed-eyed stares, John incredibly rude behavior in talking about him right in front of him. And the whole "Is he supposed to be naked like that?" comment... priceless. Then when the Asgard Techy said "Crap, indeed." I already like him. I should probably bother to learn his name...
Then, of course, there's the W/Sh shippyness.
Was Tayla left in charge when Weir & everyone went back to Earth? Interesting. She has no rank in the military or civilian protocol, I thought. Is it legal to leave her in charge?
On a different tv note, I found out that the ToonDisney channel is playing episodes of Gargoyles on rerun. Sweeeeeet. I loved that show in middle school and still consider it one of the coolest and most plotty and interesting cartoons out there. If you've ever watched Gargoyles, and liked it, chances are high you'd like anime too.

Harry Potter - HBP spoilers
At work today I found myself thinking about the Harry Potter book. Again. In an effort to meld my mind to the new canon, I tried imagining Harry/Ginny fic.
Nothin'.
Okay, clearly that's still not workin' for me.
Next I tried to picture Harry/Luna fic. That was dead too... although the book provided several instances that would make for good H/L, the glaring blaring canonness of H/G kept interrupting my thoughts. The best I could come up with was a theory that Ginny dies in the 7th book (I thought she would die at the end of this book), and leaving Harry free to have mucho grief then fall in love with Luna.
But, you know, I hate arbitrarily killing off characters just to make my ship happen. It seems like cheating.
I next turned my thoughts to Snape again. The whole loyalty of Snape thing is like The Lady Or The Tiger for me. I really cannot tell if he's truly evil or good. After I finished reading the book I thought it was clear, then upon rereading certain scenes and re-examining them, I had to revise that and admit there are other possibilities. It's completly 50:50 for me.
It's going to be a frustrating two more years.
