timepiececlockI haven't really watched much tv in the last few days, and I haven't looked at a newspaper in over a week. I learned about the hurricane several days ago from my flist here on LiveJournal, and I've read bits and snippets from posts discussing the flood since. Just now, for the first time since this started, I turned on my tv and picked a news channel.
I couldn't even last ten minutes before I had to turn it off, because I started choking up and I knew if I kept watching I'd start to sob. Normally distaster news reports, natural or otherwise, don't induce crying in me. But I all of a sudden could feel myself about to cry. I have no idea which image or what words might have triggered it.
