poem help - "Zagreus sits inside your head"

I'm trying to find this poem. I think it's a poem-- it might be more likea song/nursery rhyme gone bad.

Anyway, a link to it was posted on my friends list sometime in the last year.

All I can remember about it is that it's about some monster/entity. I think its name started with a Z. Anyway, this monster/entity like... eats things. Dreams? Time? Somehing metaphysical like that. there were also children mentioned... it read rather like a nursery rhyme about something coming to get you in your sleep.

But mostly what you need to know is that it was really REALLY creepy. I think it had maybe 5 verses? 4-6-ish.

SUCCESS! I eventually found it by typing ' evil "nursery rhyme" in your head ' into Google.

The character is called Zagreus, and it's from an audio drama (titled 'Zagreus') based on Doctor Who, centering on the Eigth Doctor. Supposedly it's an old Gallifreyan nursery rhyme. octopedingenue suggested that I heard it from fandom_wank, and I think she was right; that was probably where I got it.

How'd I find it? Wikipedia has a page. Aaahh... Wikipedia.

Zagreus sits inside your head
Zagreus lives among the dead
Zagreus sees you in your bed
And eats you when you're sleeping

Zagreus at the end of days
Zagreus lies all other ways
Zagreus comes when time's a maze
And all of history's weeping

Zagreus taking time apart.
Zagreus fears the hero heart.
Zagreus seeks the final part.
The reward that he is reaping.

Zagreus sings when all is lost
Zagreus takes all those he's crossed
Zagreus wins and all is cost
The hero's hearts he's keeping.

Zagreus needs the web to rip

I know the one you're talking about, but I can't remember exact phrases enough to Google it. I saw it originally linked from fandom_wank, but I have no idea where or when.

I think I saw it there too! But I also can't remember what it was enough to google it. I just remember that every time I see the storybook monster thing from the end credits of Monster, that's what it reminds me of.

Can you even think of a name, maybe?

Got it! Took some creative googling, but I did. I added it above to the post.

Seems like a Boogieman story.
