You know that Ellen Degeneres/iPod televsion ad that talks about making a soundtrack to your life or whatever? I used to think the music philosophy behind that ad was cool.
No no no no. Clearly they didn't consider the potential downsides. The potential NIGHTMARE downsides to totally integrating music into your life and mental state.
A couple of days ago I was walking to my apartment.
It was late and dark and I was busy having my fake villain laugh alongside the cartoon band geek characters of "Feel Good Inc." when my iPod slips over to the song "In the House, In a Heartbeat" from the 28 Days Later soundtrack... and suddenly I'm terrified that at any moment I'm going be attacked and killed by zombies or a blood-splattered Cillian Murphy.
Yeah.
It didn't help that I'd also just learned his name was pronounced "KILL-i-an" instead of "Sill-i-an".
