MMmm, Escaflowne. Too bad they're so expensive here (50$ per DVD, 80$ for the movie), or I'd have some myself.

Ooh, an anime fan!

Have you seen more of Ceres than what you own? At our house, we've got TONS of anime DVDs, cause I've got an insane ex-boyfriend who will sometimes show up with entire boxed sets. We have all of Eva, all of Esca, all of Cowboy Bebop, all three seasons of Slayers, all of Ceres, both seasons of Fushigi Yuugi... and much, much more.

OH!! You like anime too?! :glomp: I love meeting anime fans!

I have a lot more anime on tapes. I have the first season of FY (and I've seen the rest, and will at some poitn buy the DVD box set), the Mirai Trunks movie (the only thing I'll ever buy of DBZ), a few more Esca tapes, the other 2 Trigun volumes on tape, several Ranma 1/2 OAVs, the rest of Gundam Wing on tape, 1 tae of Bubblegum Crisis 2040, two Blue Seed tapes, and all of Blue Submarine No. 6, Macross Plus, and Gundam: 8th MS Team recorded.

And every show I listed (with the exception of Ceres, which I've only seen the first and second DVDs of, and Ranma 1/2, which is--huge), I've seen every single espiode, even if I don't own it. I've seen a lot of Inu Yasha in downloaded subittled verison, and I've seen basically every anime ever shown on the Cartoon Network, except Hamtaro and G Gundam... I don't like most of the GUnam series except Gundam Wing and 8th MS Team. And the last 2 eps of Cowboy Bebop.

I watched all of Eva slowly, in order, from subbed videos my library had. So when my brother got me the DVD later and I first hear Shinji and Gendo in dubbed, I ranted. Dramatically. I mean, in the original version Gendo was CREEPY. He was scary. In the the dubbed, he's like a talking brick. All the sinister threat of his mere presence was taken away. ::sigh::

Have you seen Trigun? I love that. My favorite anime, I think. But the best anime I've seen to date is Esca. That show impressed me so much wiht its subtleties, its characters, its writing, evven its animation and its KILLER musical score. Very ambitious series, and I adored it.

What your fa

I downloaded the movie; I wasn't impressed with it at all. The series is so beautiful... the movie just sucks a big rancid one.

You've seen a lot that I actually haven't! I haven't seen ALL of Eva, just bits and pieces. Though I love the soundtrack, a lot. I've seen parts of Trigun, cause my sister loves it, but I've never actually been able to get into it.

My FAVORITE, though is only available in fansubs, and is called Romeo's Blue Skies. I love that anime SO much. If you'd like to see it, I'd be more than willing to make you a copy of the whole thing. It's different than a lot of anime in its drawing style (it's similar to Mononoke and Grave of the Fireflies) but the music, backgrounds and story are just so gorgeous.

Have you seen Kare Kano (aka His and Her Circumstances)?

Hee! If you don't mind the fact that we have six people, seven cats, a dog and a turtle here!

Nope. There's a whole genre of non-suprnatural romantic comedy anime that I don't really get into. I'm not sure if that is what that show is, but i think so.

I've also seen a few other movies, like Spirited Away (amazing!), Perfect Blue (creepy & disturbing) and Metropolis, though I didn't finish that one, and "X"--the worst anime movie I ever wasted an hour of my life on. I saw a lot of the first seven eps of Utena, but I didn't like it.

I've never seen or heard of "Romeo's Blue Skies", but is sounds cool! I suppose you could make me a copy (I'd love that!) but you'd have to mail it, unless you live in San Jose. And I feel a little guilty lately because people have been mailing me stuff, like Firefly episode and a few Buffy episodes last year, and I have this squeaky sensation that everyone's spending their shipping money on me.

Speaking of which-- have you gotten my CD? It's been enough time, I think.
